MAS1641 – Capacitance Change Detection with Piezo Alarm

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces a very low power single chip solution for a capacitance change detection and a piezo alarm. Typical applications include battery powered alarm systems detecting infusion liquid level drop or water leakage.

The MAS1641 can be configured to detect either capacitance reduction or increase over a threshold which is adjustable by external resistors. A very high sound pressure level (SPL) alarm is achieved by voltage boosting solution which is based on an inductor free, low EMI and high efficiency 3x charge pump. The output driver stage can drive up to 18Vpp intermittent alarm signal to the piezo just from a low 3V supply. It can operate from a low supply voltage down to 2.25V and it draws only a very low 36uA current when monitoring capacitance change.

MAS6241 – Piezo Driver IC for Self-Drive Type Piezoelectric Sounders

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces a high efficiency, easy to use and low cost solution for piezo sound applications requiring a high sound pressure level (SPL). Typical applications include piezo buzzers, alarm devices, white goods and handheld or portable devices with sound feature.

It is an inductor free low EMI and low profile solution for achieving a high sound pressure level. It includes a high efficiency 3x mode charge pump to boost input voltage to a high level. It can operate from a low supply voltage down to 2.2V and over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.

MAS6260 – Li-ion and LiPo battery charger IC with LDO

Micro Analog Systems Oy introduces Li-ion and LiPo battery charger IC with LDO primarily intended for portable electronic products.

MAS6260 is a charger IC for single-cell Li-Ion and LiPo batteries. It includes 150mA low-dropout (LDO) regulator and protection functions for battery and the IC. Charging uses CC/CV algorithm and its fast charge current is programmable up to 400mA with an external resistor. Pre-charge and termination currents are determined relative to programmed fast charge current. The MAS6260 is available with three different floating voltage options; 4.2V, 4.35V and 4.4V.

The device has automatic power path control. When input supply voltage is available all power is taken from the input. That includes battery charging and loading from LDO and SYS pins. When valid input voltage is not available and the battery is not empty the device switches to battery power. MAS6260 includes battery overcharge, overdischarge and overtemperature protection. Additionally, there is overcurrent protection at the input (VIN) and at both outputs (SYS, LDO). There are four different faulty conditions at which the device gives distinctive fault condition signals. Charging and shutdown modes are controlled from the system. In shutdown mode the battery current consumption is minimized to maximize battery life.
